But Ruth said (to her mother-in-law), “Do not press me to go back and abandon you! Wherever you go I will go, wherever you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God, my God.
Where you die I will die, and there be buried. May the LORD do thus to me, and more, if even death separates me from you!” Naomi then ceased to urge her, for she saw she was determined to go with her.

When Jesus said he came to turn daughter-in-law against mother-in-law I scoffed (in Heaven) when I heard that. I, who was a Moabite and a non-believer, chose to follow my widowed mother-in-law, after the death of my husband, to a strange land leaving my people and my gods. I was faithful to Naomi’s God and laws, doing so with a joyful heart, deep love, and devotion. Thought: Let me learn from this immigrant woman about joyful devotion to God’s law, hard work, and deep love for others
