“Be careful what you pray for, you might just get it!” As an older woman with no children, I wonder if the pregnancy was more than Elizabeth was really prepared for. Were her ankles swollen? Did her back ache? Did she have energy enough to do what she needed to do? Do greatly desired things or events live up to expectations in our lives? For Elizabeth, in the end, the baby was a cause for great joy because the stigma of barrenness had been removed. Still, there is the caution to be sure that what we want will be what we need or even what is good for us. Question: Do I evaluate my desires before praying for them? Luke 1:25
