The Lord had to call Samuel three times before he understood. How can anyone be so dense! Maybe we don’t understand either! How often do we miss cries for help in a day from others—the sad looking man on the bus, an outstretched hand with a begging cup, or the harried mother in aisle five whose child is having a meltdown? Do we pause to help or avert our eyes? What about our own families? Are headphones, or newspapers, or excess cleaning ways to hide problems? How can we be so dense! Question: Am I attentive to the pain around me? 1 Sam 3:1-10
