December 28, 2020 Star Matt 2:1-2
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage.”
(The star and Magi only appear in Matthew’s Gospel)
What guiding star do I have
To light my daily path
So I don’t trip or stumble
What gives my life direction
To know my own true North
And tread sure-footedly
Where is my lighthouse
To warn of rocky shoals
That I may safely sail
I am the Light of the World
Whoever lives in me
Will have the Light of Life
Still that star is shining
My beacon in the dark
I need only trust
