Saturday 1st Week of Lent

St Casimir

What a wonderful promise we are given today!! Moses told the Israelites that if they walk with the Lord, they will be a people “peculiarly” his own. Don’t you want to be particularly God’s? Boy, I do!! Jesus asks us to perfect, just as our Heavenly Father is perfect. That seems like a tall order! Who is as perfect as God is? No one!! So, what are we to do? Well, for me, I am going for the botanical definition of perfect: A perfect flower has all the parts needed to do what it is supposed to do. It lacks nothing. I have all the parts God gave me. That, in the botanical sense, makes me perfect. But (yes, there is always a but) am I using them to do what I am supposed to do? How well am I walking with God? Psalm 119 today says those who follow the ways of the Lord will be blessed. But my way is not your way. I cannot tell you how to walk with the Lord any more than you can tell me how I must walk. So, what was I put on Earth to do with my talents, the perfect number of parts given me by God? One thing I know that I must do is keep this blog going. I don’t know how many, if any, folks I am touching. All I know is that by doing this, I am using what God gave me in the way God wants me to. I am using my perfection to encourage others to find and use theirs. Our paths may be different, yet we walk them together.
