Saturday 3rd Week of Advent Dec 20, 2025

December 20 Zachariah Pen and Paper

He saw a vision, was told his prayers had been heard and would be answered—he would be a father. Yet, he questioned. Zachariah’s disbelief at the words of Archangel Gabriel caused his rath to enflame. Zachariah was stuck dumb. Even though he was a priest and therefore knew the scriptures, still he doubted. Only when it came to pass as promised, did he regain his speech. How did he use his months of quiet? Can we still ourselves to contemplate the mysteries of salvation without the need of Grabriel’s rath?

Prayer: O God, in the midst of my busy preparations, help me to find time to be quiet and rest in your presence. Send your Spirit to guide me into prayerful moments.

O Clavis David (o Key of David) and scepter of the House of Isreal, you open and no one can shut; you shut and no one can open. Come and lead the prisoners from the prison house, those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death.
