Saturday Week 4 of Lent April 5, 2024
John’s Gospel for today, shows us how people are judged even before they open their mouths because of where they are from, their background, their social status. If they are different, we don’t trust or like then. “Can anyone from there be any good?” “He goes to a different church”… or not at all or is Jewish or Muslum. “You can’t trust those people.” “She is from Africa”… or Asia, or South America. “You know they are shifty!” Keep an open mind! Ray Stevens sang: “Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world, Red and Yellow, Black and White, they are precious in his sight.” Children don’t hate until they are taught. Don’t teach hate.
