Sunday Week 2 of Lent March 16, 2025 Genesis 15:5-12, 17-18 Abraham and Sarah left their home, their land, their relatives, everything they knew, and traveled far on the promise of a better life. How many do the same today? We bless Abraham and Sarah for emigrating to a new country, but we condemn the migrants of today who leave everything on the hope/promise of a better life. We must not close the door on them! They bring the gift of themselves, to enrich our country with their talents. Our country is strengthened by the jobs they do and the diversity they bring. DEI is wonderful for the US. If you feel the need to say, “I hate DEI,” instead force yourself to say, “I hate Diversity, I hate Equality, I hate Inclusion, I want a white America run by men.” That is what you really mean. Don’t you think we need to welcome all the Abrahams and Sarahs who come to our borders.
