Sunday Week 3 of Lent March 23, 2025 Exodus: In our first reading, we meet up with a fugitive from justice, Moses. He had killed an Egyptian who was abusing an Israelite, then fled. He repented. God saw fit to use Moses—seeing talents hidden even from Moses himself. Do we see the promise in faces peering in through Trump’s fence? Do we see what these asylum seekers can and will bring to the US? They pick our fruits and vegetables, clean our houses, hotels, and offices, and immigrants go on to win Nobel Prizes in Physics, Economy, and Medicine. Stop the hate and the lies! Remember, God used Moses, and remember that most of our ancestors emigrated, too.
