December 18 Isaiah Candle
Known as the prophet of Advent, Isaiah comforts and arouses people. Isaiah calls the Israelites (us) to follow God’s ways, walking forward, and not back, to be faithful and believe in the promises of redemption. He is the lamp for feet as much now as he was then. Let his words take root in your hearts.
Prayer: O, God open my ears to hear you speaking through the ancient words of Isaiah. Open my eyes to see as you see. Open my heart to live joyfully. Open my hands to give generously.
O Adonai (Lord) and leader of the House of Isreal, who appeared to Moses in the fire of the burning bush, and gave him the law on Sinai: Come and redeem us with an outstretched arm.
