The prophet Malachi tells us today that the Messiah will “turn the hearts of fathers to their children.” Our Jesse Tree addition is the model of fatherhood, St. Joseph. A quiet man of strength and faith, St. Joseph’s heart was more than turned to his child, he never needed to turn. He was constant in his love for Jesus, our Messiah—a life-giving relationship. How are our relationships? Do we need to repair our relationship with our parents or others who nurture and guide us? Now would be a great time to do just that. Let that be the Christmas gift you give this year—reconciliation. Make St. Joseph smile.
