Wednesday December 8, 2021 Jesse Tree-Moses Ephesians1:6, 11-12
Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. God chose her before all time to bring his promise into the world, Jesus Christ. She was special, having been immaculate from the time of her conception. Today we hang an ornament symbolizing Moses on our Jesse Tree. Moses was also set apart from the beginning. Pharoah had decreed that all Hebrew baby boys must be killed at birth, but Moses was saved. Then he went on to lead the enslaved Israelites out of Egypt. Mary and Moses were set apart by God. Do you ever wonder what God set you apart to do? Most likely it will not be as dramatic as Mary or Moses, but it is something only you can do to bring about change. Will you answer “Yes” even if you sort of stammer like Moses? How deep is your faith that you really do have something special to offer the world? You, too, have been set apart by God!
