Today we are presented with another excerpt from the Suffering Servant Songs. Isaiah says the Suffering Servant was called from the womb—formed specifically by God in the womb to be his servant. As I said yesterday, we too have a special task. We were formed specifically by God in our mother’s womb, just like Jesus was in Mary’s womb, and this unnamed servant of Isaiah. (Our former pastor used to say that if someone is unnamed in scripture, then we are to insert our name.) Pray for discernment to recognize our God-given task, and the strength and courage to complete it.
