December 8 Jacob Ladder
Jacob was a man with issues. He was dishonest and frightened. While on the lam, he had a dream—a ladder appeared to him that reached to heaven. On the ladder were angels. Then Jacob heard the voice of God promise that he would always be under God’s protection. A rather dramatic proclamation, but one that was unnecessary. God always has our backs. Maybe Jacob, because of his past, needed to hear it. We must know that promise echoes throughout the pages of Sacred Scripture, and believe.
Prayer: O God help me to know that no matter where I am, whatever is going on in my life, you are there.
