Reflections on what we’ve lost

Reflections on 1-6-21

I am still in shock. What I saw that day made my blood run cold. To think that so called Americans would storm the Capitol Building looking to kill representative so as to stop the certification of a free and fair election, is beyond understanding. That the thing occupying the Oval Office that day of infamy, instigated the whole thing and still is not in jail, is also beyond understanding. Then when order was restored, there were still so-called Congressmen who voted against certifying the election results and they are still sitting in the House, is also beyond understanding. I fear for our Democracy, the Republic, and voting rights. All of these are being eroded. The press has been undermined. The press exists to hold our lawmaker’s feet to the fire. Only those with nefarious intentions want the press muzzled—think Putin. History is in the process of being re-written to obscure the truth. Think Putin, Xi, Kim. Do we really want to become like Russia, China, and North Korea with state run television, one party rule, and the destruction of human rights? Well, last January 6th, was only the beginning of what the radical right wants to do to America, and I’m frightened.

If you choose not to read my blog anymore and not purchase my books, so be it. I must be true to myself and work to uphold the America I used to know. The one who loved Liberty, who cared “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.”

I want that America back!!
