In the reading from Exodus https://bible.usccb.org/readings/calendar. the Israelites are told what to do to be ready to leave Egypt—what to eat and how to smear the blood of the lamb on their doorposts and lintels. This blood will mark the house. It is the house of a believer. I wonder if anyone can tell when they come into my house that I am a believer? Do I offer hospitality, do I gossip about others, is there any sign that this house is the house of people of faith? I hope so, but is it obvious to all who enter? If not, then I have some work to do. If so, then I still have some work to do. My house should be a place of refuge for all comers. Everyone should feel welcomed and by my ministering feel the love of God. But since we are told that we are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, then my every action whether inside my house or outside my house should proclaim that I am a woman of faith. Afterall, I have been sealed with the blood of the Lamb. I should act accordingly. Image from Christ Art.
