Wednesday of Holy Week March 31, 2021

Thirty pieces of silver. https://bible.usccb.org/readings/calendar.  Judas is always the goat of Holy Week. He sold Jesus for the price of a slave. He is portrayed as a thief. But I feel his greatest sin was not asking for forgiveness. Now, I have to ask myself if I haven’t sold our Jesus in my life, too. Have I written letters to my Congressional delegation about legislation before them pertaining to Catholic Social Teachings—feeding the poor, raising the minimum wage, or fighting for clear air and water? Why not? Am I generous to causes who care for the least in my community and worldwide? Most likely I think it is someone else’s duty. So, I keep my thirty pieces of silver. I need to be honest with myself and then change. Image from: A Catholic Moment.
