4th Tuesday of Advent December 24, 2024 Mary Symbol=Lilies
What a life—Visited by an angel, bearing God’s son, fleeing to a foreign land and seeing your son executed. Rather overwhelming, I’d say. Life is complicated, filled with crushing sorrows and tremendous joys, the tedium of daily chores and the excitement of travel or unexpected upheavals, fear in heath crises and the calm of summer evenings. All these add color to the tapestry of our lives. On this Christmas Eve, remember all the good, and yes, all the bad. Then be grateful that you are who you are—shaped by your life’s events. That is God’s gift to you, and your gift to God and others. Question: Will I truly be a gift to others this Christmas?
