The Psalmist proclaims, “You have changed my mourning into dancing.” https://bible.usccb.org/readings/calendar. Isaiah promises that the Lord is making everything new—earth, heaven, will wipe away the past sorrows. In this pandemic we need to hear this prophesy and then believe it. Will the sound of weeping be stilled? Will the young grow strong and the old see a full life? We will eat of our vineyards and sing thanksgivings. Can we really believe that when we see so much pain and suffering, so much hunger, so many homeless, so much hate directed at those who look or love differently than we do? Jesus heals even those outside his circle and there is rejoicing. No matter how dark the night, dawn arrives. I don’t know how God will make things right, but I’m willing to put my faith in Him and dance. Are you?
