Thursday December 2, 2021 Jesse Tree-Isaac Matt 7:24-27
Jesus tells us to build our lives on a firm foundation—himself. We cannot be swept away in the tumult of the day if we cling firmly to our foundation of faith. Today we hang an ornament for Isaac. Isaac faced a monumental trial—death at the hand of his own father. Did he struggle? Most likely. We struggle, too and even lose our faith. But that is how we grow—by struggling with our faith and seeking deeper understanding. Isaac had a foundation that was unshakable, and he needed it many times throughout his life. Today we are asked to check our foundation. Does it have a few cracks? Mine does. Let’s spend a bit of time today rebuilding our foundation of faith. We will find it to be a worthwhile struggle.
