December 3 Noah. The ark
Humans are frail creatures prone to misdeeds, so bad that God desired to start over again. Ever long to wipe your life clean—start over without the mistakes, errors, pains, and sorrows of the past? How much water would be needed to do just that? God needed a global flood to cleanse the Earth of its evil past. No where near that much water was needed when we were baptized and cleansed of human history—just a trickle over our heads. God promised Noah never to destroy by flood again. Yet we can be cleansed again and again as needed without water. We’ve been saved. Celebrate reconciliation during Advent. Get clean without water!
Prayer: O God, by the salvific act on Calvery, I have been redeemed, and I have been made new in the waters of Baptism. Give me, I pray, the grace to live always as your child and to come to you often in remorse for my failing to do so.
