Naaman, the army commander and a highly respected man was a leper. He was cleansed by Elisha. https://bible.usccb.org/readings/calendar . Now the problem with Naaman was that he balked at the way the cure would happen. He, like most of us, wanted fireworks—something grand. Instead, all he had to do was bathe. How dull! I wonder if we only find God in the big “fireworks-like” moments of our lives—spectacular sunsets, weddings, births. Life is not made up of many such moments. Mainly life plods along. The challenge is to find God in those moments. Can I find God while chopping onions for dinner, or making the bed, or preparing a Power Point for work, or waiting at a traffic light? That is truly where you will find God most often because these are moments that make up the bulk of our lives, and God is always there.
